Kobe v Lamar. The 1-2 punch? Not if Kobe can help it.

"It's great to have a 1-2 punch . . . when Lamar's clicking like that, it makes my life a lot easier on nights like tonight. I needed guys to pick me up, and Lamar stepped up and did that and carried the load. Then at the end of the game I was able to come through."

- Kobe Bryant, after the Lakers beat the Timberwolves 92 to 89.

Doesn't Kobe always say the right thing? He should run for office in California like the rest of the celebrities. He'd make a great liar, I mean, politican.

No Kobe, you'd rather YOU had all the points and all the glory. 1-2 punch, ha? Didn't you have that with Shaq? Or was the problem that Shaq was the 1 and Kobe was the 2?

Lamar has really stepped up his offensive game lately. He has averaged 22 points on 67% shooting in the last 3 match ups. You know why? Because he seems to have finally developed a bit of confidence and has taken control of the ball on some possessions, rather than passing it to Kobe around the clock. Of course, it would look really bad for Kobe to be angry at the fact that Lamar has been stealing some of his spotlight, because Lamar has actually been delivering on those baskets and Kobe has been struggling from the floor (he has averaged 38% in the last 5 games, 48% against Minnesota his best). But wait until Lamar has a bad shooting night, Kobe will eat him alive and proclaim that, once again, sadly, he has to start taking more shots because his teammates are inadequate.

Dobe is saying that "it's great to have a 1-2 punch"? Didn't he have that 1-2 punch when Shaq was here? yes, and what happened? he couldn't handle it b/c Dobe is so selfish that he feels threatened from a "1-2 punch", even if that punch in on his side, so he convinced the Laker's owner to get rid of Shaq. So, Kobe is just trying to say the right things to the media when he says that he's glad that he's glad he has a 1-2 punch with Lamar. Kobe is the guy that yelled at Lamar when Lamar took a shot against the Wizards in Washington, D.C. with a few seconds left, yes, Lamar missed the shot, but the point is that Dobe wanted all the glory. I agree with TeamPlayer, when you look at the real numbers, Dobe's shooting percentage is horrible, any other player would be BENCHED!!!

Man, this guy just doesn't get it. He's a prince who grew up with the world revolving around him. He still thinks this is the playground where he can dominate and still win games. Can't wait till the playoffs when he gets spanked.

In game six versus the suns, Dobe scored 50 pts -- 50 freakin pts. The Suns, however, came out ahead because the more Dobe shoots, the better chance the Suns have in winning. Game seven will definitely be a different story, though. Somehow Phil Jackson has gotten control of Dobe and the rest of the team. The Lakers will pound us inside, but I think we have proven that we can beat the Lakers in a half-court set -- unless the referees are against us again. My prediction: Suns win by 20 pts -- due to the fact that we are at home and we know how to handle Dobe and the rest of the team.

I agree, the Suns will win game seven, unless Dobe decides to play Teamball
