I agree, Kobe is incredibly overrated, I'm glad people point that out in this blog.
And whoever is asking who made this blog, why do you care? You sound like Kobe after a teammate anonymously criticized him for quitting in a game against the Kings and he went ballistic interrogating the whole team to figure out who made the comment.

Kobe is free to be the best player in the NBA and will be one of the greatest to play in the NBA when he retires and then he will be in the hall of fame and his jersey will go up on the wall next to all the other Laker hall of famers at Staples Center. So even if you hate him that is what it will be. It is okay to hate because there are plenty of players I hate even though I respect their game. There is plenty of hate (and Jealosy) to go around the NBA.

oh man, there are many more asterisks that you could add, like: ***quit on his team in the 2nd half of an elimination game to make a point; ****led the Lakers to NOT making the playoffs after Shaq left; *****was knows as the king of 1 on 5, etc etc.

Whatever. It won't say that in the Lakers media guide, but when you get yours, you can pencil in your asterisks. You seem to forget the Kobe, Shaq and Fisher came to the Lakers in the same year and they grew with the Lakers system and Phil finally got them to think and play like champions. Also it was Shaq who tanked the finals against Detroit and asked to be traded and Mitch and Buss said adios and don't let the door hit your big behind on your way out. You also seem to think that Shaq was just peechy to have around. His attitude toward the Lakers and Lakers fans was terrible. There are plenty of players I hate, but I hate Shaq the most. I don't care if he got hit by a mack truck, got shot in a drive-by, got poisoned or just dropped dead. I would not shed a tear and would say good riddence.

No, it'll just say that in most articles, books, etc that talk about Kobe.
I personally could care less about Shaq, but all you have to do is look at his relationship with Wade to see that it was Kobe who had the horns in the pair, not Shaq. And what about Gary Payton? He seems to have no problems playing with Shaq and is doing well in Miami. Name one player who loves playing with Kobe?

Shaq liked playing with Kobe. He just couldn't or wouldn't get along with him personally outside of the basketball court. This is the part that shouldn't matter when they're playing on the court. Shaq gets along with Wade because there is no history between them (no bad attitudes).

That's funny, of course, there's no history between Shaq and Wade, but that's b/c they've only been playing together for 2 years. To say the obvious, history is created.
Dobe has haad problems with any player on the Lakers that is not a "yes man", from Gary Payton, to Shaq, to Caron Butler, and to his own coach. The only way Dobe can function in a team is by having having players that will not compete with him. If he realized that it's not about him, but about the team, then he would start winning more. He sat on the sidelines last year, and this year he got out on the 1st round. Unless he wins a couple of championships w/o Shaq or w/o another megastar (like KG), at the end of his career he will be remembered for riding Shaq's cape. Kind of like Pippen is remembered as being the sidekcik of Jordan.
It will be interesting to see if Dobe plays teamball next year. And if he does, will he know when to shoot and when to pass. Hmm.... we shall see.

What are you talking about Willis? Kobe had Shaq against Detroit and lost. Having Shaq on any team doesn't guarantee a championship. Kobe needs players around him that actually want to win a title instead of one player that wants to lose one so that he can then ask to be traded.

Oh yes, Shaq had 21/ppg and 11/rpg during the 2003-04 season, those are the numbers of someone "trying to lose."
And, I thought that Kobe didn't need anyone else? Isn't that what he wanted? He is very proud to be a "leader" of a "young team." Isn't that so convenient? If he does well, people will praise him b/c he lifted a rookie team. If he does horribly, his excuse is that the other players suck. If he only were as clever on the basketball court and he is off it.

Shaq wanted to lose against the Pistons to he could get traded? ha ha, that's funny. WOW, if you believe that, then I have a piece of beachfront property that I can sell ya, it's in downtown Phoenix.
No one is saying that you win a champinship just by having Shaq on your team. The reality is that the Pistons were just hungrier, and they were the better team. And actually, more props to Shaq for being able to win 3 rings despite having the King of 1 on 5 on his team.
Dobe no longer has Shaq to save his ass, and thus, Dobe's little 1 on 5 stunts got him to watch the playoffs from the sidelines last year, and this year, of course, he choked.
Dobe needs sorry players around him so he can shine. And yes, Steve Nash has been able to make starts out of players that last year were riding the Hawk's bench.
Dobe should stick to Tennis or any other sport that requires individualism, he might win the scoring title, but the teams that play as teams are the ones that are still in the playoffs.
