Suns Win Series: Kobe - the Cry Baby Goes Fishing
The chest-pumping animal of Game 6 has turned into a cry baby in Game 7.
Kobe was so preoccupied with proving to everyone that the Lakers couldn't win without him, he opted to go fishing rather than advance to the second round of the playoffs.
Kobe took only 16 shots (3 in the second half), as the Lakers lost to the Suns: 90-121. Rumor has it that Kobe was offended by the LA Times article that criticized him for taking 35 shots in Game 6. So Cry Baby Kobe decided to just stop shooting in Game 7 to prove a point. Not did he only stop shooting, he also stopped helping his teammates (1 assist!) and playing defense (4 rebounds). If that's not the epitome of selfishness, I don't know what is.
Kobe claims he is the leader of his team. He likes to act like the leader in telling the other guys what to do and looking down on them as if they're a bunch of kids. But a team leader is not someone who just scores a bunch, it's someone that steps up and helps his teammates when they're down. The rest of the team played their hearts out throughout these playoffs, and when they start struggling, he washes his hands to feed his ego.
And then, he gives this interview, blaming his teammates ("everyone has to contribute"). Aren't these the same teammates Kobe has been praising throughout the playoffs and saying that he's so proud of? And, he has the tenacity to insult Raja Bell ("I don't think about him at all when I'm playing . . . not like I do when I play Bruce Bowen or Ron Artest"). The thing is, however much Kobe tries to insult him, Raja is moving on to the second round and Kobe is not.
Kobe's arrogance and selfishness has no end. He'll never admit he's wrong, things are never his fault. I hope he's content with sitting out the rest of the postseason and the fact that he'll never win another championship.

I think the most telling thing about Kobe is the fact that he led his teammates off the court last night without shaking hands with the winning team. I guarantee he would have been on the court crowing until the cleaning crew locked the arena doors if he and his had won.

Didn't anyone notice that kobe was about to cry? Maybe he figured it out that he is know very far from jordanesque now. Poor performance in second half, didn't show much emotion, didn't excite his teammates. In 98 when jordan and the jordanaires were facing elimination from the pacers and were down big he got every one fired up a led the way. I think kobe now knows he can't be jordan. next season is his 11th and he isn't close to jordan. and will be almost 30, and his legacy will be that of a ball hog.

A real Lakers fan know that they have won 9 championships in LA which is 9 more than Cleveland, 9 more than Pheonix, 9 more than Sacramento, 6 more than San Antonio, 3 more than Chicago, etc, etc, etc. Other than Boston the Lakers have the most championships. Oh and how many do the Wizards have? None, except the Bullets have one. So that would be 8 more than Washington. Now go round up your teams and win something that counts and means something. So it was Shaq that carried Kobe? I guess then that Shaq can't carry anyone else. He couldn't carry Penny and now he can't carry Wade. So how is it that he only carried Kobe and no one else? At the very least he carried as a Laker and not a Magic and not a Heat. Does this say more about Shaq or more about Kobe?

A selfish prick is someone who is under contract and demands a trade and then dictates where he wants to get traded to. A selfish prick is someone that stops playing offense in the second half of game 7 just b/c he got pissed-off at the LA Times for busting on him for taking dumb-ass shots when he's doubled & trippled team. What Dobe did in game 7 is the essence of a selfish childish prick.
Oh, and by the way, Penny Hardway became a nobody once Shaq left. Write me back when Dobe makes the Western finals (which Shaq did last year), or when Kobe wins a ring without a Shaq, or a Kevin Garnett (whom is rumored to be going to the Lakers to save Kobe's ass).

Shaq didn't make the western finals last year as you said. He was in the Eastern Conference finals last year with the Miami Heat. Get your facts right. Oh and KG has won something yet? I guess even KG would need Kobe to win. You are wrong that Penny was nothing once Shaq left. They were both nothing with each other. You have to win a championship to be a somebody and Shaq didn't win in Orlando. If you are going to be the most dominate force then you better win a championship. Shaq didn't win until Kobe was a starter and Phil became head coach of the LA Lakers. Shaq goes to Miami and can't beat Detroit once again and this year won't be any different.
